Do you work with
children or young adults in your library? If so,
then you need the Youth Services Section
Interest Group of the Maine Library Association,
and we need you. (MASL members: Currently
you need to join MLA in order to be on the
mailing list for the Youth Services Section
Interest Group.)
Our
Mission
The Youth
Services Section of MLA is composed of
children's librarians and other interested
librarians. The section sponsors programs at the MLA
Annual Conference as well as the Beg,
Borrow, or Steal program in August. The section's annual
meeting is held during Reading
Round-Up in April. In addition, the section
produces materials of interest to librarians
dealing with children's services.
The YSS Chair directs the business of the section and serves
on the MLA Executive Council. As a member of the
Executive Council, the Chair of the section
acts as liaison between the section and the
Council. On occasion, the Chair also serves
on other committees as directed by the MLA
President.
