Guidelines for Conference Grants
The Committee accepts applications for grants up to $250.00 from candidates who meet the following criteria:
- The applicant is a resident of the state of Maine.
- The applicant is currently employed by a library or media center in Maine.
- The applicant has a demonstrated financial need.
- Grant recipient is required to assist at the silent auction for a minimum of 2 hours.
Grants are awarded directly to the individual to defray Maine Library Association Conference expenses. Grant money may be used to join Maine Library Association, as well as for the Conference or a post-conference session. The Committee reserves the right to award all, part or none of the amount requested.
Application Instructions
Please observe these instructions carefully when preparing your application. Applications that omit one or more of the following items will not be considered.
- Completed application form.
- Please describe why you wish to attend the MLA conference. This should include a statement of financial need in 100 words or less.
All application materials must be typed, and postmarked by September 8th.
Grant Application
Materials submitted will be held in confidence by the Committee and become the property of the Maine Library Association.
