| Welcome to
the first edition of the MLA-to-Z, Maine
Library Association’s quarterly newsletter. We are
excited to offer this new publication to the Maine
library community and its advocates as a continuing
education tool and a communication vehicle. This
introductory issue is available online to all ME-LIBS
readers. Starting with the second issue, which will be
published in the summer, MLA-to-Z will be sent
via e-mail or the postal service to Maine Library
Association members only, as a membership benefit.
In each issue of MLA-to-Z
we will tackle an area of particular interest to
libraries and librarianship. There will also be
regular features, such as:
- “The Question”
and “Sound Off,” which ask for reader
responses, making this newsletter an interactive
reading experience
- “Library Lynx”
and “Tech Talk,” information and sound advice
from technology guru Jim Campbell
- Thoughts from John
Clark, librarian by day and library humorist by
night, to keep us smiling.
This introductory issue
of MLA-to-Z appears here on MLA's site.
Starting this summer, look for back issues to be
archived on the website.
To read MLA-to-Z
you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or
higher. If you don’t have this installed on your
computer (it often comes with web browsers), you can
