Beg, Borrow, & Steal 2021
Friday, November 19, 2021, 11 AM - 1 PM
Online via Zoom!
Join YSS on Friday, November 19 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm for a fun info-filled workshop on Zoom! For a small donation, you get professional development, networking, and to support the Youth Media Awards, and the Youth Services Section of the Maine Library Association.
This year’s Beg, Borrow, & Steal will feature our usual sharing/discussion session, new Maine State Library Consultant, Marijke Visser, and a rundown of what your YSS Board has going on. This will be Marijke's first opportunity to meet with youth librarians in Maine, so we are super excited to host her. Marijke is eager to connect with as many library folk as possible to build up her understanding of what’s important to staff (top issues that keep you up at night, trends in services/needs, cool things underway and/or emerging ideas, etc), so come prepared with your thoughts and ideas!
Because we know that finances are tight after the stressful year(s) we've had, YSS is trying something different with registrations. We are offering tiered registrations for libraries or library staff who are experiencing financial struggles and may not be able to contribute a full donation. Our hope is that this will allow more libraries and library staff to join us in Beg, Borrow, & Steal and in welcoming Marijke to Maine. We encourage libraries who can donate registrations to please do, so we can continue to offer these types of services in the future. If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please email YSS at yss@mainelibraries.org.
We look forward to seeing you there!
