Join the Maine Library Association for a Coffee Chat to connect with the League of Women Voters of Maine.

With election season upon us, this informal session will explore how libraries can support civic engagement through various initiatives. We'll discuss the upcoming nonpartisan voter guide from LWVME, which covers everything from voter registration to understanding Ranked Choice Voting and what's on the ballot; learn about the online voter database at Vote411.org, which provides nonpartisan information on every race in Maine, including local contests. They'll also cover the toolkits that LWVME is designing for libraries, featuring materials like flyers, posters, and social media graphics to promote voter guides and significant events like National Voter Registration Day on September 17. Also, you can find out how libraries can partner with LWVME Local Leagues to host candidate forums, issue discussions, and other civic events, and learn about the training sessions LWVME can offer on topics like the new Online Voter Registration system. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore how your library can be crucial in fostering informed voting and civic participation in your community!

The Coffee Chat Series is an MLA Membership benefit. Registration is open to all members, and the event Zoom link will be provided in your registration confirmation email. This event will not be recorded.
