Coffee Chat: MLA Wage Study Success Stories and What's Next

In late fall 2023, MLA released a wage study to help provide insights and recommendations for library workers to ensure fair wages throughout our state. The report emphasized the importance of internal equity, ensuring fair compensation practices among current employees, and external equity, aligning with market values for similar positions in the broader workforce. Using this tool, several library directors in Maine have advocated for wage increases for their staff. 

Join us on Thursday, December 12 at 1:00 PM to learn more about how colleagues across the state found success with using the wage data, to ask questions about the report and what it means, and to help MLA determine the best path forward as we aim to provide resources like this to help all library workers.
