Summer Reading Planning Session

Join the Maine State Library and The Maine Library Association's Youth Services Section on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm for a fun and info-filled workshop on Zoom! For a small donation, you get professional development, networking, and get to provide financial support for the Youth Media Awards, and the Youth Services Section of the Maine Library Association.

This year’s summer reading planning session, Oceans of Possibilities for Planning, is a fun-filled oceanic adventure into summer reading! This virtual planning session will dive into this year’s CSLP manual, offer tips for using Beanstack, discuss methods for tracking books or reading, and, of course, give us time to talk programs. We are also super excited to have presenters from the Gulf of Maine Research Institute visiting to talk about their programming options!

Is your library focusing on a different theme? Join us and share your theme! Others might have some great ideas to share or past experiences you can glean from. Are you struggling with virtual vs in-person again (aren’t we all…)? Crowdsource ideas and best practices from others who are in the same boat as you! Join us for this fun and informative session as we highlight the Oceans of Possibilities for all ages. This year’s workshop will be on Friday, March 25, 2022

Because we know that finances are tight after the stressful year(s) we've had, YSS is trying something different with registrations. We are offering tiered registrations for libraries or library staff who are experiencing financial struggles and may not be able to contribute a full donation. Our hope is that this will allow more libraries and library staff to join us in Beg, Borrow, & Steal and in welcoming Marijke to Maine. We encourage libraries to donate as much as they can, so we can continue to offer these types of services in the future.
